How Time Flies !!

I can't believe it's been 3 months since I last wrote on this blog !!! My, time really does fly when you're having a good time, doesn't it?

Just a bit of an idea what I've been up to. We left the house at the end of November and spent most of December on the road. We went to our home state of Victoria for Xmas parties with both sides of the family and caught up with lots of friends too. And we picked up our new car. We needed a bigger car to tow the caravan and it's a beauty too. I love it, although I'm definitely not overly comfortable in the drivers seat just yet. It's so big......a Toyota Landcruiser.....still, I'm sure I'll get used to it. If only they didn't make those parking spaces so small !!!

Back to Queensland for Xmas with daughter Rebecca, then on New Years Eve, 3 of our grandchildren (ages: 11, 9, & 6) came up to spend 3 weeks with us on the Gold Coast (or the south coast). We stayed in a family friendly caravan park & had a great time. Kids make friends easily don't they, and pretty soon they were tearing around the place on scooters & bikes, going to the pool (only with us) and having a great time. I have to say though, when they went home, we were exhausted !!

We had 4 days respite before we headed to Byron Bay, a spot on the north coast of New South Wales to mind 2 more grandkids....this time 2 teenagers....15 & 13.......considerably easier !! We're really lucky....we have beautiful grandchildren....love them to bits. We were there for 10 days & I got to meet an internet stitching friend, I had a lovely afternoon being shown some of the sights of her area and chatting the afternoon away....Thanks Nanette.
Then we headed to Canberra, our national capital, to visit the War Memorial & meet another internet stitching friend, Monica.....again, a lovely afternoon.
After that, we headed back to Victoria for a reunion with some Vietnam Veteran friends. This group meet at the end of February every year and its always wonderful to see them. Lots of stories, several glasses of wine and 4 terrific days later, we headed back to Queensland. We left the caravan at our niece's house because we're staying with Rebecca while we're here and just after Easter, we'll head south again & meet up with friends to start our trip to the north of Western Australia. WA is such a big state, we'll probably be there for most of the year.....lots of terrific fishing off the coast of WA and Richard is very keen to participate.

So that's where I've been in a nutshell and I hope it's not too long before I post again.....hopefully with photos of whatever I'm doing!!
